MaxWorth Insights: The Call Pay Solution Anniversary
MaxWorth Insights: The Call Pay Solution Anniversary
A conversation with Steve Worthy, Max Hockenberry and Dr. Tom Oliver
Celebrating the anniversary of our longest-running call pay program
On this episode of MaxWorth Insights, we’re celebrating the anniversary of our first call pay program with the help of the physician leader who made it possible.
Over fifteen years ago, Winchester Medical Center, a 495-bed facility in Virginia, was at risk of losing a service line in its emergency department due to a dispute over call pay. MaxWorth was brought on board to help the hospital come up with a sustainable approach to paying for call that would ease agitation and keep its ED fully staffed.
At the time, Dr. Tom Oliver, a urologist who had been on staff with the hospital since 1988, was serving as Medical Staff President. Dr. Oliver, along with the lawyers at HortySpringer Law Firm, played an important role in developing our Call Pay Solution.
We’re proud to be able to say that our first program is still serving its hospital well. But what makes it such an enduring and valuable asset for the hospital’s leadership and medical staff?
MaxWorth’s senior partners, Steve Worthy and Max Hockenberry, sit down with Dr. Oliver to answer that question and discuss the early days of the program.
We hope you enjoy their conversation, and we hope it inspires you to find creative and sustainable solutions to your organization's compensation challenges.
